MeckEd is pleased to announce the kickoff of the MeckTech Program in partnership with CMS. Melissa Vera, will serve as our first MechTech Advisor and will work closely with students at Vance High School, Martin Middle School, and Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School. The MeckTech program will increase students’ awareness of post-secondary education options and will also partner with area businesses and industries to provide workplace learning opportunities, along with internships and apprenticeships. As a result of these efforts, students will graduate from high school more prepared for college or career. MeckEd is convinced the MechTech Program will serve not only CMS students and families but also the business community and local economic development, as we help prepare high school graduates with the necessary skills required by the 21st century workforce.
