Annual Community Breakfast

MeckEd’s Annual Community Breakfast offers an exciting opportunity to hear from leaders in the field of public education. The event is a rally cry for the entire community to support our schools and to work together for the benefit of all children. The Annual Community Breakfast is the only local event that offers an outside perspective on public education in Charl0tte and Mecklenburg County. MeckEd also uses the breakfast to honor an Education Champion of the Year, someone whose commitment to and passion for public education knows no limits.

In 2014, former North Carolina Governor Jim Hunt was the keynote speaker at MeckEd’s Annual Community Breakfast. Gov. Hunt is the longest-serving governor in state history and is a longtime champion of our public schools. He energized the crowd with his positive message, and challenged our community to work together to make CMS the best school district in America.
