Our Role

We Engage Community Leaders. MeckEd engages the community, funders, policy makers, and public and private organizations on behalf of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and their students.

We Provide Reliable and Trusted Sources of Information.  MeckEd is a learning organization that can be counted on to provide best practices information and objective measures for public education improvements and success. 

We Are a Critical Friend to CMS. MeckEd partners with the CMS Superintendent and School Board by:
1) Supporting CMS on shared agenda initiatives,
2) Engaging others to provide support for the Superintendent and/or School Board when change is necessary but unpopular or controversial, and
3) Challenging and applying pressure when the school system needs a push to move forward.
