Key Initiatives

MeckEd established the School Leadership Fund to target the highest priority systems-level needs of CMS. In exploring opportunities for high-impact/high-yield co-investments with CMS, Superintendent Dr. Peter Gorman identified school leadership and parent engagement as the highest priorities. CMS and MeckEd agree that the utmost urgency is to identify leaders who will employ creative and innovative strategies to close the student achievement gap.

In partnership with the private sector and civic leaders, the Fund will provide two years of financial support for the following four initiatives, plus operating support for MeckEd:
